Scope Of Work
The Porsche headquarters project included the development of a 27-acre site into a 200,000 SF, -of-the-art facility that has become a destination for employees, customers car enthusiasts. The headquarters consists of an building, experience center, business center an adjacent structure. The experience center, designed to showcase the capabilities of Porsche’s vehicles, includes a 1.6-mile, drive development test track that runs through the courtyard of the complex. The track includes six driving modules to demonstrate the experiences of different Porsche vehicles. There is also a simulator lab where guests can race on 15 tracks in a virtual setting.
The building is comprised of modern facilities for 400 employees, including a technical service training center, a Heritage Center with galleries of vintage automobiles, a garage to work on concept vehicles an employee cafeteria. The training center uses advanced laboratory testing equipment to asses an individual’s physiological reaction to exercise. The assessments are then used to formulate unique a training plan that maximizes efficiency. The facility also includes Restaurant 356, which is named after the first automobile to carry the Porsche family name.
The project was on a remediated brownfield site previously occupied by a Ford Motor Company automobile plant. The facility was also constructed at the end of an active runway at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, perennially deemed to be the world’s busiest airport, required extensive coordination efforts.
