Scope Of Work
The Lake Oswego School District Westridge Elementary School renovation project consisted of a major remodel, which occurred in a compressed schedule in the summer of 2019, between calendar school years. Westridge Elementary School is a one-story 46,324-square-foot building with a mechanical mezzanine and a 4,626-square-foot attached covered play area constructed in 1980. The Westridge Elementary School renovation project included deferred maintenance, safety, and seismic upgrades, accessibility updates, plumbing renovations to meet code requirements, and repaving of the existing main parking area. Other maintenance items included repairs and replacement of damaged or failing envelope materials, mechanical repairs, and replacement of the existing wood-framed entry canopy with a new fire-retardant canopy. Renovations include the removal of unbraced walls and seismically unbraced library loft, to be replaced with new reading rooms, as well as the renovation of a classroom area into a school resource maker space. A one-classroom addition was also incorporated into the project to maintain the current classroom capacity.
