Scope Of Work
Banneker served as the prime contractor for the design-build modernization of the 2nd floor of the Aircraft Maintenance Facility at Washington Dulles International Airport, a major hub for domestic and international air travel with carriers which provide air service throughout the world. This 8,500 square feet project is a new space used by the U.S. Transit Security Administration.
Work included full architectural and engineering design, interior demolition of the entire 2nd floor, construction of a new HVAC system, plumbing upgrades, new millwork, new ceiling grid and tile, new sprinkler, construction of a canine room, installation of carpet and VCT flooring, upgrading of the fire alarm system, construction of a secure store room for use by the Transit Security Administration, significant low-voltage cabling and a new extensive physical security system. This fast-track design-build project was completed in 118 days (which includes design, permitting and construction).
