Scope Of Work
Cain Contracting was selected by the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to perform the fast-tracked
construction of a 400,000 SF retail and office building as part of the renowned redevelopment of the
former Parole Plaza, now known as Annapolis Towne Center. In keeping with the decadence of historic
Annapolis architecture, Cain’s scope of work included the installation of ornamental moldings, 30-foot
Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) columns, a domed roof, and cupolas. The ten-month scheduled
required most of the work to be performed in the harsh winter months, requiring meticulous planning
and coordination to ensure that safety and efficiency was maintained through completion.
