Our Story

Crete Concrete is a name that has meant quality workmanship for over three generations.

Founded in 1948, the Soldano family has provided the tri-state area with concrete construction expertise for both the residential and commercial market.

From the earliest days of “wheelbarrow Pete”, Peter Soldano and his younger brother Roy provided the labor and material to create the foundations that would fuel the post war build up of Bergen County.

After their service in WW2, the Soldano boys set out to create a family masonry business. Quickly finding that their youth hindered them in making contacts with older established builders, they brought in their father Joseph, who builders more closely identified with. Joseph would become the symbol of Crete Concrete Corp. With his ever present cigar and his new Black Chrysler Imperial, he kept a close eye on his boys.

From the small tract homes of Paramus, to the concrete foundations of some of Bergen County’s Largest corporations, Crete Concrete became the leader in quality, cost effective construction.

After the passing of Joseph and Roy, both Brian and Jack would join with their Dad to carry on the family business for another generation. With mom Reva watching the checkbook and Peter overseeing his boys, Crete would grow to become one of the largest family controlled concrete contractors in Northern New Jersey.

Now as we approach our 60th anniversary, a third generation has joined the business. ‘Young” Peter, Brian’s son, using the latest in concrete innovation and technology, has ensured that Crete Concrete will maintain its reputation as the concrete contractor to go to when you need quality workmanship, completed to your schedule ad your specification.
