Scope Of Work
The City of Wichita selected the Key Construction/Walbridge Joint Venture to build a new terminal at the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Kansas.
The $101.5 million project includes construction of a two-story, 273,000-square-foot terminal with 12 gates and boarding bridges. Construction began in October 2012 and wrapped up in April 2015. The new terminal will feature ticketing, a baggage handling system, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening areas, a business center, concessions, restrooms and various administration offices.
Key/Walbridge also built departure lounges and six vertical circulation cores for tarmac access with construction of the new terminal, located near the airport’s existing terminal.
The new terminal’s modern operational and security enhancements will improve service for passengers and other airport customers. The airport’s last major renovation was in 1989.
