Scope Of Work
The Dallas Horseshoe is a $798 million design-build project to upgrade the aging IH 30 and IH 35E bridges that cross the Trinity River, as well as a portion of the Dallas Mixmaster. The project includes IH 30 from Sylvan Avenue to IH 35E and IH 35E from north of Eighth Street to the IH 30/IH 35E interchange in Dallas, as well as construction of two fully designed Santiago Calatrava signature bridges. Rated the seventh most congested roadway in Texas with an AADT of approximately 358,000 vehicles, the IH 30/IH 35E corridor is one of the largest interchanges in the state.
The project will improve the geometric issues causing congestion, repair and replace deteriorating structures, and add capacity to the interchange and frontage roads.
As part of the Pegasus Link Constructors design-build team, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure is responsible for design and construction of 73 lane miles of roadway, 37 bridges and 60 retaining walls. The project will be completed in 2017.
