Scope Of Work
The Conco Companies is providing a variety of concrete services for the new thirteen story Epic Tower in Hollywood on Sunset Blvd. The project is being developed by owner Hudson Pacific Properties and designed by Gensler architects, who also recently collaborated on the nearby ICON tower. The general contractor is Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company and the structural engineer is Nabih-Yousef and Associates.
The project is a 280,000 Sq. Ft. office tower with 18,400 Sq. Ft of new retail space. The building also includes 27,000 Sq. Ft. of inspiring landscaped terraces, providing a seamless transition to outside workspaces through tall glass walls that overlook the city of Los Angeles. The project is targeting a LEED Gold certification, incorporating bike-parking, a fitness center as well as a ‘landing pad’ for drones.
For the Epic tower, Conco is providing concrete finishing, concrete pumping, concrete formwork, and shotcrete services. Conco began work on the high-profile project in December of 2017 with completion anticipated in March 2019. This timeline reflects the challenges of working in a growing neighborhood with high traffic volume limiting site access and work hours.
