Scope Of Work
Granite installed a 23-mile, 25-kilovolt three-phase underground power line, which has been used to place three large telescopes on commercial power instead of diesel generator power. The power line started at an elevation of 5,500 feet and continued upward to 10,500 feet at the telescope site. Due to the terrain, all access through the corridor was by tracked equipment or by foot. A tracked excavator pulled along a small screen to process material, which was used as a cable bedding and shading.
