Scope Of Work
This project involved the demolition and the reconstruction of a 100-year-old ventilation facility for four East River transit tunnels that connect to Penn Station in New York City. The project also included the installation of new substation, electrical switchgear, and tunnel fan equipment. All the work for this project had to be performed without any disruption to Amtrak’s daily services. To accomplish this, Granite installed shields in the tunnels to separate the railroad from the work area.
