Christopher Solomon, RPLS's Bio
Chris Solomon joined SAM at its inception in 1994. He has over 25 years of extensive experience delivering multi-disciplinary professional services in the AEC industry. His experience at SAM has spanned the full-range of responsibilities involving business development, project management, and financial management. As the CEO and President, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the company by working with the Board of Directors and the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, operational plans, policies, and the allocation of resources to accomplish the company objectives.
Chris is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas and holds an Applied Science degree in Land Surveying from Tyler Junior College. He is a member in industry associations including Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, Association of Petroleum Surveying and Geomatics, International Right-of-Way Association, Pipeliners Association of Houston, Gas Processors Association, San Antonio Pipeliners Association, and Southern Gas Association.
Michael Hatcher, RPLS's Bio
Mr. Hatcher has been licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas since 1984. He has a broad range of experience in the field of surveying throughout Texas, including boundary surveys, land subdivisions, oil field surveying and well location, and route surveying for major utility transmission and distribution facilities.
Mr. Hatcher's main area of focus in recent years has been in the management of SAM's consultant surveying contracts in support of both right?of?way acquisition and engineering design of major roadway and freeway facilities. He has managed contracts in the Austin, Bryan, El Paso, and San Antonio Districts of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for many years. In addition to these contracts, Mr. Hatcher has been the leader for SAM's teaming with engineering firms that provide consulting services throughout the State. He has successfully managed work under public contracts for over 20 years. He is currently a member of numerous professional associations including Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, Texas Council of Engineering Companies, and International Right of Way Association.
Robert E. Butler, Jr., RPLS's Bio
Mr. Butler has over 25 years of experience providing multidisciplinary professional services for the AEC industry. As Chief Operating Officer for SAM, his industry experience with airborne, mobile and terrestrial LiDAR, engineering design surveys, and construction surveying are key assets to the firm. His extensive project experience includes boundary, topographic, construction, engineering design, right of way, and photogrammetric/LiDAR control network surveys for a broad range of public and private sector clients. He has been a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas since 2002 and is a member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors. With responsibility for directing all company operations, his leadership is essential for helping guide the SAM companies to continued success through our highest performance. He is also actively engaged in business development activities to further expand our client base.
Samir Hanna, RPLS's Bio
In 1968, Samir "Sam" G. Hanna, RPLS received a B.S. in Engineering, Major in Surveying, from Cairo Polytechnic Institute in Cairo, Egypt, and arrived in the United States in 1970 as an immigrant. He became licensed as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in Texas in 1975.
From 1977 to 1994, Mr. Hanna was Senior Vice President for a large national engineering firm with 15 offices in nine states. During this time, he was responsible for overseeing company-wide land and hydrographic survey operations and managing up to 300 personnel, including numerous Registered Professional Land Surveyors, and more than 50 survey field crews. Mr. Hanna worked directly with a diversified group of engineering, geological, natural science, and environmental professionals.
Mr. Hanna founded Surveying And Mapping, LLC (formerly known as SAM, Inc.) in 1994 and currently serves as its Board Chairman. Under his direction, the company expanded its initial offering of Land Surveying services to include Digital Aerial Mapping (Photogrammetry), full?service Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Utility Coordination and Geographic Information System (GIS) services. Mr. Hanna's philosophy of recruiting the best people and providing the most advanced equipment and training helped maximize the firm's efficiency and he personally guided the company's methodology and approach to delivering high quality services. In December of 2016 Mr. Hanna announced his retirement from the daily management of the company, but retains his position as Chairman of the Board and continues to serve as an advisor to the management team.
Mr. Hanna has been practicing Land Surveying for over 35 years. His experience includes projects with private and public sectors, including local, state, and federal governments. He has international experience in both Mexico and Egypt. His experience also includes six years in the U.S. Army Reserve as Chief Construction Surveyor. He is currently a member of numerous professional associations including the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS), Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveying (MAPPS), American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), and International Right of Way Association (IRWA).
