Scope Of Work

US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS – PHILADELPHIA DISTRICT
WILMINGTON HARBOR SOUTH, MONEY ISLAND, FORT MIFFLIN
EARTHWORK PREPARATION SERVICES

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Philadelphia District is responsible to maintain the navigability of the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ to the Delaware Bay.

Operations and Maintenance include the hydraulic pumping of silted materials from the shipping channel and into various sludge disposal areas along the river.

The USACE regularly utilizes the de-watered sediments to expand the network of dikes that surround and enclose the disposal areas.

The JD Bravo Company (Bravo) was selected by the US Army Corps of Engineers (Philadelphia District) to provide earthwork preparation services at three dredge material sites located along the Delaware River from Trenton, NJ to Wilmington, DE. Noteworthy facts regarding these assignments include:

JDBC assembled a project team which included Haines & Kibblehouse of Philadelphia to complete bulk earthwork prep and ike construction.

The onsite management successfully planned the assigned work in a highly organized manner, exceeding the expectations of the USACE.

At Wilmington Harbor South, more than 400,000 cubic yards of material were excavated, trucked, and shaped in 6 months, utilizing 14 pieces of heavy earthmoving equipment.

The total value of work at all three sites is $8 million.
