Scope Of Work
At the time of construction, Harbortown Apartments was the largest residential development to take place on the Detroit Riverfront in over twenty years. Tower Construction served as the Construction Manager and played an intricate roll in the pre-construction, site plan approval and permitting phases of the project.
The five story, 138 unit apartment building totals 195,000 square feet and features one, two and three bedroom units. Removal of contaminated soils and the installation of specialty foundations were part of the construction along with the typical site work and utility infrastructures. Construction of the apartments began August 2014 and the first tenants took occupancy January 2016.
In January 2017 the two-story 7,400 square foot Water Edge Community Center was added. Features of the center include a first floor exercise facility, first and second floor community rooms, a second floor outdoor patio and pergola as well as a ground level patio with a fire pit and in-ground pool.
