Scope Of Work
Robinson Construction Company was chosen by a North American Leading Food Company to perform as the design-build general contractor for construction of a new dry goods warehouse and training facility, as well as demolition of an existing dry warehouse, in Marshall, Missouri. Robinson oversaw complete design of the 32,000 sq ft warehouse, utilizing in-house resources for the structural design. The new warehouse included a Nucor pre-engineered metal building for the structural main frame, insulated metal panels (per the Owner’s specification), non-conditioned space with racking, a large freezer space with racking, and a drum storage area. Before construction of the warehouse could begin, the storm sewer had to be rerouted and rammed aggregate piers were installed within the building footprint to improve soil bearing capacity. Engineered fill was used to bring a portion of the site up to grade and support the new structure. Additionally, the project involved installation of 65,000 sq ft of concrete paving, foundations, building slab, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work. Robinson also engineered and constructed a 3800 sq ft training facility on the Owner’s campus. A Nucor pre-engineered metal building was used for the training facility as well. Following construction of the new dry goods warehouse and training building, the existing dry goods warehouse was demolished and the area prepped for future development.
