Scope Of Work

Project Summary: Saunders Hotel Group launched a pilot Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) program at their Lenox Hotel downtown Boston bcation. The Saunders' philosophy is to " manage hotels with 'best of class' standards", and the Saunders family of hotels has often set those standards regarding environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, the Group seeks to provide memorable custorner experiences. An advance-of-need EV charging station fulfills the goals of the hotel to: personalize guest experiences and anticipate customer so they don't have to ask Serve and delight customers by delivering service exceeding customer expectations The Saunders Group asked Voltrek to plan and execute the installation of one GE Dura station EV charging station in a valet parking spot. This unit is located on a public street and is fully weatherized to assure endurance. The unit is equip;kd with a 31772 connector allowing single car access. It is in the hotels valet zone and managed by the hotels valet service staff. Voltrek manW this project in 3 phases; Planning, Implementation & Servicing. Planning included Zentification Of local permitting and zoning requirernents. This was no small feat in Boston due partially to Boston not having a formal process prior to this pr*t. We delivered a projected cost analysis, design renderings, a utility schematic, equipment recommendations, tax incentive Zenbfication, utility bill impact analysis and recommendation for access control, potential billing options, and graphic wrapping options. In phase 2 Voltrek worked closely with Boston DOT to ;ktition for approvals from half a dozen City agencies and presented multiple times in front of the Boston Public Improvements Commission before successfully securing necessary permits. Voltrek obtained and managed required civil engineering plans and legal services for negotiating a land lease with the City of Boston. We designed signage, installed the hardware, initialized and activated equipment software, provided customer Orientation sessions, quality assurance testing, listing Of station in the national directory Of EV charging stations, and coordination Of marketing efforts With The Saunders Group team. Voltrek continues to service equipment for this location.
