Scope Of Work
The Franklin County Judicial Center is location in the heart of downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. The Project Manager, Kenny Davis, and Superintendent, Bill Bridges, provided an in depth constructability analysis to the design team as Codell was granted access to inspect the existing building and full city block of buildings to be demolished making way for the LEED Silver Certified addition. Due to the close proximity of the Kentucky River and sandy site conditions, our cost projections resulted in a change in design from a geothermal HVAC system to a conventional boiler/cooling tower system. Maintaining the operation of the county courthouse was also of significant importance. Multiple phases of the project allowed for complete renovation of the existing building while limiting disruptions for the staff and public.
