Scope Of Work
SAI was the prime subcontractor for the general construction portion of the $60 million Heating & Refrigeration Plant that serves the heating and cooling requirements of the Pentagon. Scope of work includes all structural concrete (18,000 cy), structural steel, precast building facade, roofing and interior finishes. All work was closely coordinated with the building mechanical equipment as structural elements of the building supported the mechanical heating and cooling equipment. The building structure included several deep area including the condenser water sump (40′ deep, 30,000 sf in area) and the main plant basement (25′ deep, 50,000 sf in area).
