Scope Of Work

GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK:  This project required the rehabilitation and reviving of (160) aging resident quarters and bathrooms on Floors 2, 3, 4, and 5, as well as (2) stairwell towers in the Bachelors Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) of the Marine Barracks Washington (MBW). Work in the rooms included removal and protection of furniture, equipment, and fixtures; approximately 26,000 sf of drywall and stud demolition; new wall reinforcement and moisture resistant drywall installation; drywall finishing, patching, and repair throughout; over 150,000 sf of painting of walls and surfaces as well as (320) doors and frames; plumbing repairs to leaky faucets and shower fixtures; (160) new p-traps and associated drain plumbing repairs; new sealants throughout; replacement of (160) wax rings at water closet fixtures; fire-stopping of floor to floor piping penetrations throughout, vinyl and ceramic floor tile repairs as necessary; (160) new rust prohibiting access doors; new towel bars and bath accessories throughout; replacement of faulty lighting fixtures and outlets as needed; and other miscellaneous repairs.  Work in the stair towers included power washing of all surfaces; new paint on all walls, ceilings, floors, and railings; new anti-skid surfacing on stair treads; and miscellaneous repairs as necessary.
