Scope Of Work
Lendlease commenced construction of the first Candlewood Suites® hotel ever constructed on a military installation. The 310-room Candlewood Suites on Joint Base San Antonio is the largest Candlewood Suites hotel in the PAL portfolio, and the world.
The hotel development is part of the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, a U.S. Army-led program established as a means to revitalize on-post lodging facilities for Soldiers, their families and all government travelers. Lendlease is the developer for the PAL program, which includes the renovation and development of more than 12,000 hotel rooms on 41 military installations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world's largest hotel groups, is the PAL hotel operator.
Selected for its extended-stay hotel model, the Candlewood Suites on Joint Base San Antonio features a variety of amenities tailored to meet the unique needs of today's military traveler, including spacious studios and one-bedroom suites, fully-equipped kitchens and large work areas in each guest room, a swimming pool, a 24-hour Candlewood Cupboard for food and beverages, business and fitness centers, guest laundry facilities, complimentary hot breakfast served daily, and courtesy on-post shuttle service.
