Our Story
Underwood General Engineering & Environmental and Environmental Consultant Services (UGE-ECS), Inc. was founded January 1982. Formerly, Underwood Loss Control (ULC), Inc. The firm began as a Occupational Health & Safety Consulting Firm and has progressed to a full service environmental and construction management organization and environmental engineering specializing in underground storage tanks and hazardous materials removal, remediation and assessments.
Ms. Espie-Underwood, President of the firm, has been a leader in the OSHA consulting field since 1970. UGE-ECS provides consulting services to cooperations, municipalities, the State of California, and various federal governmental agencies. The firm operates under both an Engineering Contractors - Class "A", and an - Asbestos/LBP/Mold Abatement License.
UGE-ECS, Inc. is a Woman/Minority Owned. MBE/WBE/SDB/SBE and has been certified as such with MWD (Metropolitan Water District-Los Angeles); Minority Business Development Agency; Los Angeles Community Colleges, Port of Long Beach, Port of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Unified School District, San Diego County Water District, CBE (Community Business Enterprise), DGS(Department of General Services),CUCP (California Unified Certification Program), and SBA (U.S. Small Business Administration).
UGE-ECS is a multi-discipilnary Environmental Engineering and Consulting firm with corporate headquarters in Southern California, and the firm provides services throughout the United States and International. UGE-ECS staff includes experience professionals and support personal providing services in federal program management, major project control, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene and asbestos, LBP and mold abatement, and including training.
