Scope Of Work
The scope of the work entailed the replacement of outdated HVAC systems and equipment, demolition and new construction activities for a 38-bed acute care unit at the John R. Burton Pavilion, 10 private rooms, three patient care wings, the creation or renovation of nursing and support staff work stations, and supporting medical and diagnostic spaces.
With all of the construction activities occurring on the third floor of a medical facility operating seven-days-per-week, it was critical to maintain open lines of communication with various audiences, including medical management personnel, vendors and other people accessing the building.
The maintenance of safe and clean working conditions -- as well as respecting the daily operational activities of the medical staff and patients at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center – were the keys to the successful outcome of this multi-faceted and diversified construction project.
