Scope Of Work
After serving the Greely School system as an elementary school, the town requested proposals in 2011 from developers to revitalize Drowne School into senior housing. Bateman Partners provided the town with an appealing opportunity to redevelop the Drowne School and surrounding area into a new neighborhood of high-end, affordable and senior homes.
Renamed Village Green Apartments, this project consisted of the renovation and addition of the school into 38 elderly apartment homes. The adaptive re-use of the building includes a resident library, function room, and spacious apartments, many of them facing the local little league ball field still in use. All new mechanical, electrical & sprinkler systems were installed, as well as an elevator and quality interior finishes.
