Craig Hansen's Bio
Craig Hansen’s father Carl Hansen was a bricklayer in Des Moines for over 50 years. He not only taught Craig how to build a straight wall and the value of a hard day’s work but more importantly he opened his eyes to the world of construction.
So in 1979 at the age of 25, Craig took a bold step and founded The Hansen Company. That decision has benefitted hundreds of workers and their family members over the years in addition to the countless projects that have positively impacted the skylines of our community. From humble beginnings Craig has steadily built the company into one of Iowa’s most reputable and successful construction companies. In 1989, The Hansen Company was named one of Inc Magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing Companies and over its 35 year history the company has consistently ranked in the Top 10 of Construction Companies as profiled in the Des Moines Business Record’s Book of Lists.
Craig has also been involved with Master Builders of Iowa and other industry organizations to work with his colleagues and peers to advance the causes and legislation that affect the construction industry. Craig is proud of his heritage, proud of his accomplishments and proud of the men and women who have helped make The Hansen Company what it is today. It is safe to say that he has laid the foundation and developed a legacy for a company that will thrive in Iowa for a long time to come.
Craig Faber's Bio

As Craig advanced in years he decided to study at the University of Northern Iowa where he earned a degree in Construction Management with an emphasis in Business. His choice has served him well as following graduation he began employment with The Hansen Company in 1988 as a field project manager. Over the years he worked his way up through various departments learning all aspects of the business and in 2010 was named President of The Hansen Company. Today Craig is a partner in the firm and leads the company on all aspects of the business and strategic vision.

Mike Halstead's Bio
Outside of company founder Craig Hansen; Mike has perhaps one of the longest running ties to The Hansen Company as anyone here. Mike’s dad Chris was a longtime superintendent for The Hansen Company for over 25 years and Mike spent many weekends tagging along with him to numerous jobsites. It’s fair to say that construction has been in Mike’s blood since childhood, so it was no surprise that his career led him to the construction industry.
With a relentless work ethic from a young age, Mike has always stayed busy. Growing up he worked in various industries including retail, bartending, and even many years as a volunteer firefighter. After graduating high school in Ankeny, he attended Iowa State University where he obtained a double major in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Management. After college, Mike went on to earn his Certified Public Accountant designation. He began his career in the insurance and public accounting sectors before joining The Hansen Company as Controller in 2012. As the company grew and Mike’s experience grew right along with it, he elevated to the role of Chief Financial Officer. Today Mike oversees all finance, insurance, bonding, risk management, strategic planning and general office functions.
When Mike isn’t working; he lives a busy, fun-filled life. Mike and his wife Megan have two dogs, Boone, the loveable 130 pound English Mastiff, and Lulita, a precarious, sweet “rescue mutt”. When they’re not cuddling (or wrestling) with their dogs, they enjoy traveling and experiencing new adventures. Mike and Megan love to snowboard in the Canadian Rockies and they off-road with their Jeep, affectionately dubbed “Princess Consuela Bananahammock”, in the mountains of Colorado. Keeping up with Mike isn’t easy. He’s always been an avid fitness and nutrition enthusiast and in 2019, he obtained the designation of CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Mike can not only crunch the numbers but he can crunch the abs too!

Operations
Jason Eveland's Bio
Jason is part of the Executive Leadership Team at the Hansen Company. As Director of Operations, Jason oversees all project management activities as well as helps to establish and steer the strategic direction of the company. Having started as a Project Engineer in 2007, Jason’s experience is very well rounded as he has held many positions and roles within the firm.
Perhaps his greatest strength is talent development. Jason believes personal development is a life-long endeavor. Holding himself accountable to this conviction, he has taken many leadership courses, most notably Master Builders of Iowa’s “MB Eye on the Future” and “The Leadership Experience”. As Jason prefers to lead by example, he helps to mentor other team members and create pathways for them to receive similar training and educational opportunities.
When Jason’s not working; he loves spending time with his family. Together they share many passions including duck, pheasant and deer hunting. He’s also an avid sports fan who not only enjoys watching sports but playing them as well. Rumor has it he can still dunk but that claim is unsubstantiated. When not on the court, you may find him in the stands rooting for the Iowa State Cyclones where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering or in the Mile High City rooting for his beloved Denver Broncos.
Jason attributes his successes in life and business to his father and mother and the Christian faith they instilled in him at a young age. Throughout Jason’s childhood his father worked two full-time jobs, modeling a strong work-ethic before eventually working his way up to owning and operating his own automotive maintenance business. While his dad worked tireless hours outside of the home, his mother maintained a safe, loving environment inside the home. Jason truly feels he would not be where he is today without the strong influence and example set forth by his parents.
Jeremy Harder's Bio
Jeremy grew up in a large family that moved often as his dad performed mission work across the United States and abroad. He learned the value of hard work and resiliency from an early age. Straight out of high school he started in construction as a home builder and he has stayed close to the industry ever since. Inspired by his dad and driven by his own passion to help others, Jeremy and his wife Shana took a detour from construction to work in the nonprofit world for several years. They love working with the poor to help influence and develop see systemic change in the lives of those who live on the margins.
After many years of social work, Jeremy felt the call to come back to construction and he joined The Hansen Company. The move has proved to be advantageous for Jeremy, the company and our clients. Preferring relationship-based interactions and leadership over an authoritative style; Jeremy can often be seen patting someone on the back, extending a helping hand and even offering a hug which is rarely accepted on the jobsite but humorously appreciated.
When he is not working to support the personnel on the jobsite; Jeremy and his family including two young boys love exploring new places. Taking trips to national parks, exploring new cities and hiking trails are all part of the adventure. A man of many talents, Jeremy is also an accomplished musician. Jeremy and some of his friends started the “Beer and Hymns” gospel experience at The Hall in West Des Moines. He loves introducing the sacredness of hymns in an unusual place. This has proved to be a wonderful outlet for his gift of playing the guitar and singing. Whether it be on the jobsite, at a community event, hiking in the backcountry or spreading the gospel in a loud, ruckus bar; what you see is what you get with Jeremy. A fun loving, caring people-person with a big smile and an even bigger heart.
