Scope Of Work
Long known as the "jewel of the court complex," the Harris County Juvenile Justice Center needed major renovation from the inside out. The original building, which opened in 1951, also required asbestos abatement. After conducting a partial exterior and complete interior demolition, S&P renovated 338,000 square feet of space for courts, administration, offices and 210 juvenile detention beds. In the process, many of the building's original items, including desks and benches, were repurposed.
