Scope Of Work
The new Hunter J. Smith Dining Commons is a two-story structure encompassing 20,821 square feet. The project was designed to provide student and faculty with traditional cafeteria style seating with a capacity of 250. The dining space serves as a non-alcoholic pub with entertainment in the evenings. The lower level provides a coffee shop, along with primary kitchen facilities. The upper level houses the servery, the main dining facility and a private dining space.
The exterior facades of the facility are in keeping with the most recent design standards established by a master plan for the campus. The architectural orientation of the building to an adjacent central lake and wetlands area positions the diners to overlook environmental features.
