Scope Of Work
Ashley Gardens is in a design corridor and features contemporary design cues. But another important part of planning any large building in the Coastal Carolinas is mitigating hurricane risk. So while the large retention ponds we spec’d for Ashley Gardens may have seemed excessive to some, they were given a full test and proven necessary by Hurricane Matthew in October of 2016.
The facility, ten miles north of Charleston, survived without so much as a broken window. ECC team members flew in ahead of the storm to shut the building down and evacuate its residents to our Community in Evans, Georgia, Marshall Pines Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. Thankfully, the building was built to the highest standards and was back to normal just a few days later.
