Scope Of Work

Problem

The purpose of this project was to repair the parking garage and to provide front entrance waterproofing at the Hilton Crystal City Hotel. The garage contains 3 levels of parking. The P1 level is slab on grade construction with spread footings supporting each column. The elevated levels, P2 and P3, are conventionally reinforced 8” thick concrete slabs. A conventionally reinforced ramp provides access to street level. The core portion of the garage is located directly under the hotel building and the remaining portion is located underneath a plaza area on the south side of the building.

Solution
Performed hydro demolition and partial/full depth repair on garage elevated
ramps, structural surfaces, and walls
Repaired all overhead, vertical, and slab on grade concrete delaminations
Removed and replaced expansion joints
Re-striped all garage structural surfaces, including the parking spaces, handicap
signs, arrows, logos, curbs etc.
Sealed all leaking foundation cracks by means of chemical grout injection
Installed and replaced garage drainage system and associated cast iron piping
Removed plaza finishes and waterproofing system, repaired the structural slab
below the waterproofing, replaced waterproofing with hot rubberized asphalt, and
replaced plaza finishes.
