Scope Of Work

The new 42,000 square foot Gateway Ticketing Systems Global Headquarters building is a design-build project, led by Hollenbach Construction. Beginning with extensive client interviews, Muhlenberg Greene Architects gained an understanding of the organizational and spatial requirements, and helped to craft Gateway Ticketing Systems’ vision for their ideal collaborative environment.

In close coordination with Hollenbach Construction, the zoning and permitting proceeded in parallel with design, allowing for a streamlined and efficient process, leading to construction document and bidding completion simultaneous with the start of construction.

The project is a harmonious agreement of form and function creating a striking facility to reflect the firm foundation of Gateway, but to also express the company’s position as a leader in the technology industry.  A careful balance is struck on the interior, ensuring adequate separation for “heads down” time but also providing opportunity for collaboration ranging from planned meetings to casual interaction.

The “Main Street” of the building is flooded with light from the south facing clerestory, which is carefully designed to allow plentiful warming light in the cooler months, but also block harsh mid-summer sun.  More importantly, the central space provides a convenient circulation path, specifically designed to provide proximity and access between groups that have regular interaction.  A large lunch room provides ample seating for everyone in the company and serves as a gathering location for the frequent pot lucks, barbecues and other teambuilding events.

Starting with firm project goals, the collaboration throughout the process between constructor and architect ensured a thorough design that both meets budget, and ultimately cut down on questions and delays during construction. As founder Peter Grumblatt eloquently stated in his remarks prior to groundbreaking “substance makes the idea a reality.”
