Seamus Canning, our founder, is a proud Irish man, master electrician and general builder/engineer with over 30 years of industry experience. Seamus is passionate about serving others, whether a customer, his team, or working to improve people’s lives through the various charities he supports that help the less fortunate around the world.
Civil war devasted South Sudan, and children have paid the biggest price in terms of health, education and well-being. Seamus organized local partnerships that included a crew of local craftsmen & Saint Cecilia School to address some of these challenges. He and a crew of 6 traveled to South Sudan donating their time and expertise. They built a trade school at the Nimule Orphanage. Hope, once in short supply, has returned to some in South Sudan, and is inspiring a new generation thanks to these efforts.
In Herat, Afghanistan Seamus became aware of an orphanage in need of facilities to serve as a school, community center and technical training center. He established a gofundme page – Caring Cares – which raised $16K and offered his expertise to complete the construction of a 14-classroom school.
Closer to home, Seamus repelled down the face of The Hilton Hotel’s 46 stories to raise money for Outward Bound-an educational nonprofit aimed at changing lives through challenge and discovery. Canning Electric employees support Family House by cooking meals for approximately 80 residences for families of children with cancer and life-threatening illnesses.
