Scope Of Work
This project included the construction of new 300’ long pile-supported causeway and approach roadway at Squibnocket Beach. This project had unique challenges dealing with the winter weather in an exposed work area, the Town of Chilmark’s Conservation Commission concerns regarding the environmental impact of the project, and the concerns and monitoring from the Wampnoag Tribe of Martha’s Vineyard for archeological preservation during excavation of the site. This was a high profile project that met with some resistance from a concerned group of Martha’s Vineyard citizens. C. White Marine met all of these challenges successfully and with professionalism and completed the project on time and on budget. This project was also in coordination of the refurbishment of Squibnocket Beach, Town of Chilmark. The completion of our scope of work was extremely timely in that the storm of March 2018 came through and eroded the original roadway, leaving only the newly constructed causeway for access in that area. This was proof positive that this construction was vital to the area.
