Roberts Awnings

Roberts Awning was established in Petersburg, VA by Mr. Roberts, in 1912. Roberts Awning and Sign is still located in Petersburg over 100 years later, where we are still manufacturing awnings in a family environment. Roberts has strived to keep a balance between custom hand-crafted products and technological advances. These advances cover both the products we use and the manufacturing process itself. As the need grew to become better equipped to provide in house graphics for our awning customers, the decision was made to invest in the latest printing equipment. With this equipment, we could offer several other products in the way of signage and hence became Roberts Awning and Sign in 2011.

In the fall of 2012, Roberts continued its growth by establishing an authorized dealer in the Gloucester area – Bahama Breeze Awning and Shutter Company. Roberts provides support, instruction and custom manufacturing for products sold by Bahama Breeze.

The opportunity also came about in the Spring of 2013 to purchase the assets to Norvell Custom Awnings. Norvell dates back even further than Roberts to 1899! We have successfully combined the two oldest companies in the Richmond/Tri-cities area. We are also pleased to have Buddy Kovacs as our Richmond Sales Rep. Buddy’s father started Norvell and Buddy later took the company over and grew it into the largest awning company in Virginia.
