The structure, a former block ice plant, proved to be porous and challenging in terms of attaching fasteners to and through the concrete walls. Realizing as-built site dimensions conflicted with the plan set, the Zia team was able to rely on their knowledge of the Florida Building Code in order to formulate, direct and make critical layout and utility changes without needing to wait on the ’s consultation to move forward.
