Since being named President & CEO of Horst Excavating in 2008, Mr. Scheid has built upon his 35+ years in the construction industry to provide leadership, vision, and guidance to the Horst team. Harry has served multiple roles for Horst Excavating since joining the company in 1987, giving him an insightful global approach to managing the company’s activity. Harry brings his substantial experience and creativity to the table in analyzing projects to maximize efficiency, evaluate and improve schedules, and ensure Horst’s clients receive the best possible value on their excavation project. Harry’s reputation is built upon his depth of knowledge in the construction industry, his often-impressive mathematical analyses, and his astute observations related to project intricacies.

Since joining Horst Excavating in 2000, Brian has worked in a variety roles, gaining experience ranging from Pipe Layer to Project Manager to Vice President Operations. In his current role, Mr. Kane manages all activities related to business acquisition. This includes leading both the estimating and business development teams, as well as actively pursuing opportunities related to work. With almost 20 years in the industry, Brian brings a well-rounded perspective and leadership to the teams he manages. Brian is known for his passionate and energetic approach and high standards for excellence on any project Horst touches.

With nearly 20 years in the construction industry, Mr. Hess has a balanced and comprehensive approach to project management that lends itself well to leading the project management team at Horst Excavating. As the Director of Project Management, Jason provides overall leadership to the department and has total responsibility for managing excavating projects from start to finish. He not only holds his team accountable for keeping Horst’s projects on time and within budget, but also for the goal of exceeding client expectations and ensuring client satisfaction. Jason has made a reputation for himself based on his professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication – ensuring projects are managed safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality.
