This project was unique because of the shape of the roof and the historical significance to New Braunfels. When it was built in 1942, the roof was constructed as a single sloped barrel roof, which sloped from front to back with parapet walls on three sides. This construction created unique situations for water evacuation, which required unique details to which not all roof systems can handle. We mechanically attached Polyisocyanurate insulation and 1/2" cover board to wood deck and fully adhered a Firestone 60 mil TPO roof system on roof and up and over parapet walls. Installed 24 gauge coping cap on top of parapet walls.
