Scope Of Work
This 195,000 square foot new high school was built immediately adjacent to the existing school it replaced. The school accommodates over 1,000 students and has two levels in the academic wing and one level in the commons wing which includes the gymnasium and auditorium. The building is shaped as a U with a large courtyard in the center designed to retain a number of mature trees. Titled as the “replacement” school, the new school provides more then just a replacement to the existing school. The new school provides facilities and systems that had been missing in the previous high school.
Sustainable features included skylight/solar tube daylighting, high efficiency energy glass systems, sustainable flooring materials, low VOC materials, light shelves, exterior sunshade canopies, high R value efficient conserving insulation, high-efficiency electric lighting with daylighting controls.
