Level Services Corp is the progressive result of a dream that started in the cotton fields of central Mississippi by John Sr.  He was born a sharecropper and would later leave the Jim Crow south to make a better life for his family.  From Mississippi to Memphis, TN, and finally settling in Chicago, IL, John Sr. took on several odd jobs, before landing a position as a union construction laborer during the expansion of the Eisenhower highway system.  Overtime, he learned the skills and became a heavy equipment operator and would spend the beginning of his career rolling the asphalt for I-88 from Mannheim to the Quad Cities/Mississippi River.?

In the mid 1970s, as John Jr., was coming of age, John Sr. helped him land a union laborers job.  John Jr. learned the trades quickly and became proficient in flatwork, forms, and sewer installation.  In 1995, he earned his Journeyman’s Plumber license and accepted a position with Chicago Housing Authority on the maintenance team.

Much like his own Father, John Jr. was a strong believer in generational progression.  Having watched his Father and Uncle facilitate the migration of both sides of his entire family from the cotton fields of Mississippi to Chicago, John Jr. wanted to establish equity to pass to the next generation.  He started taking his youngest son Tory, with him on side-jobs.  It was important to John Jr. to instill work ethic into his son as his father did him.  At the budding age of 12, Tory displayed a natural affinity and aptitude for business so John Jr. laid a foundation of the trades as a “back-up” career plan for his son.

By 2003, the Chicago Housing Authority began privatizing property management and closing several housing projects, John Jr. and Tory jumped on the opportunity and began the process of turning John’s side jobs into a sustainable business.  It was there they founded Level Services

Corp.

Since then, Level Services Corp has evolved into somewhat of a local ‘household name’ in the services market.  We work primarily with developers, rehabbers, active general contractors, and property management firms.  Over the last 17, we have established strong working relationships with building departments and plumbing inspectors all over the Northern Illinois region.  Our “bread & butter” is residential, multi-family, and light commercial plumbing system installations.  We have worked everywhere from Barrington to Lake Forest to Lincoln Park….  As well as Englewood, Garfield Park, and Roseland.  We strive to be efficient, and work with all price points.
