General contractor and real estate broker Daniel “Danny” Stevenson is ahead of the curve in a growing industry. Cannabis is now legal for recreational use in California as of this year, and is gradually losing its stigma, as well. Stevenson’s Mountain Valley Construction serves those in this new industry by building the state-of-the-art cultivation and manufacturing facilities they need.

A licensed general contractor since 1987, Stevenson launched Mountain Valley in November 2016, to specifically focus on the cannabis industry. “In March 2015, I was asked to build a small cultivation facility, and though cannabis was still a gray market in California (Medical only), I realized it would be legalized soon and these facilities are a lot more complicated than most people realize.”  
 

Stevenson committed to educating himself about the industry. He joined the National Cannabis Industry Association and began attending trade shows and conferences nationwide. He then went out and visited as many cultivation facilities as he could get in to. ”It’s not an easy industry to learn about, the good growers don’t want to share their secrets” In the process he built a great team. “I like to consider myself like an orchestra conductor, I determine the needs of a project. I then hire the best experts I can find for each discipline and coordinate their efforts from design through completion.”
