Scope Of Work
The Velez Organization started back in 1993 as Construction Manager for the New York City School Construction Authority’s Mentor Program. We have reprised our role most recently as the Program Manager for the MTAP (Mentor Technical Assistance Program). MTAP seeks to increase, facilitate encourage the participation of minority-owned, women-owned locally based enterprise (MWLBE) firms by providing a flexible framework for eligible firms to develop grow within the construction industry to establish long-term business relationships with the SCA, other public private sector entities.
Velez provides business capacity building for over 100 firms in the form of direct coaching, training mentoring of MWLBE contractors including producing assessments evaluations, holding one-to-one group coaching sessions on administrative technical issues, assisting contractors in applying for financing bonding, providing business development support direction, assisting contractors in transitioning to the union environment.
