DEC Contractors is led by a seasoned contractor. Licensed since 1988, Rich Bourque has nearly thirty years in the contracting business, and over forty years’ experience in construction and management.

With a broad technical experience base, and a focus on mechanical and electrical systems, Mr. Bourque has the proven track record of bringing complicated projects to completion, with the highest level of precision and quality.

DEC Contractors represents a collaboration of top level engineers and designers prepared to complete your most complicated and unique civil, structural, architectural and plumbing projects.

As a former Director of Facilities for Sutter Health with a local major health care affiliate, Mr. Bourque has extensive experience in high-end building and systems design, operations, maintenance and management. As a member of the internal special projects team in the Sutter Health network, Mr. Bourque was responsible for project oversight and guidance for large new ground-up medical facilities, medical facility conversions, major space reconfigurations of office buildings into new medical facilities, medical equipment installations and upgrades such as MRI, CT Scan, PET scan, digital X-Ray, Linear Accelerators, Surgery Center equipment, etc.

Mr. Bourque has experience meeting a myriad of medical industry and regulatory compliance standards for high-tech cleanroom and FDA laboratories, animal research facilities, and other fabrication and research lab construction projects.

Prior to, and following his tenure with Sutter Heath, Mr. Bourque’s construction business had been involved in various industries and trades with primary focus on commercial construction. He has headed up various food service projects, such as delicatessens, wine bar/restaurants, and large cafeterias. He also has experience with residential construction: building large estate type custom homes, high-end remodeling projects and fire/water restoration projects.

As a General Contractor, Plumbing Contractor, ICC Mechanical Inspector, trained PV Solar designer, EPA certified remodeler, LEED-GA accredited associate and licensed Realtor, you can trust that the building business is not just a pastime for Mr. Bourque and the DEC team, it’s a passion.
