Three generations create a 48 year old contracting firm. Founders J.C. and R.K. Stoddard launched in 1972. Today R.K. and R.K. Stoddard Jr. share principal roles for their main office in Bulverde, TX.  R.K., president and owner, celebrates more than 48 years in the construction industry and continues to operate on his own working capital, not from lending institutions.  SCMI’s combined construction experience exceeds 300 years, with superintendents averaging 16 years with the organization. Stoddard’s own craftsmen continue to perform much of the work now commonly subcontracted, alongside an average of 55 full-time employees.  SCMI takes great pride in old-world craftsmanship while embracing innovation to meet the future’s ever-changing demands. SCMI pays special attention to the details and truly believes that getting it right the first time is critical. This is emphasized to all trades to ensure a successful project.

 Bonded by North American Specialty Insurance, SCMI carries a single limit capacity of up to 50 million dollars, with an aggregate of 100 million dollars enabling us to handle substantial and complex projects.  Projects in which SCMI has been involved include educational facilities, historical courthouses, processing plants, arenas, high rise buildings, multi-level parking, shopping centers, laboratories and more. Our professionals are experts in analyzing and controlling budgets, labor and material allocations, and project staffing needs. Because of our experience and owner operator flexibility, SCMI can formulate prompt, practical solutions and analysis for almost any construction situation.
