Ferisa Pergola's Bio
Mrs. Pergola, serves as Project Manager at Collier Construction, on
predominantly commercial projects.
Her background is very
diverse, she has completed small, medium and large projects. She
brings 17 years of NYC construction experience to the team. Her
specialty has been health care but enjoys building in schools,
libraries, hotels, fire houses, high rises, etc.
Her career kicked off as a purchasing assistant for a subcontractor while in college. Immediately, her passion for the construction industry started. Not long after she started working for a General Contractor and has not looked back!
Most of Ferisa's experience in Healthcare was building in occupied areas such as; Labor & Delivery Suites, Cat Labs, ED spaces, Specialty Labs, etc. This helped her understand the term "Pre-Construction Risk Assessment" which includes pre planning of protection, safety, and facility coordination for utility shutdowns.
Most of her experience was working onsite with a project team. The following are some of her thoughts from her experience:
Schedule & Budget are critical in construction, but "constant communication" is key with all parties.
She likes to say "when you build in occupied areas, you can build anywhere".
Ferisa grew up in Queens, NY most of her life after migrating from
Trinidad when she was a child. She now lives in Orange County, NY
where she moved to be with her husband Joseph and their two
dogs.
When she's not on jobsites or busy starting new projects
she enjoys volunteering, assisting High School students in the ACE
Mentor Program, and serving others in her community.
