Our Story

At MARVEL, we recognize that the pressing issues facing contemporary cities, communities, and the natural environment can only be solved with bold, collective action. We embrace global challenges. For more than 20 years, we have worked at the intersection of public and private space, creating intentionally timeless design solutions that integrate nature and context.

From our offices in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico, we bring together architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban design, and interiors professionals. Together, we accelerate the discussion between all stakeholders—including policy makers, community and business leaders, clients, activists, and citizens—and co-author long-term visions for buildings, places, and people.

Our interdisciplinary research and design teams develop big ideas to solve big problems. By synthesizing our diverse expertise and working as one entity, we design, plan, and build shared urban spaces that are key to humanity’s success and our planet’s health. We address immediate issues while improving our quality of life for the long-term.

Marvel’s projects have been recognized with over 125 international industry awards, among them the American Institute of Architects’ highest honor, the 2019 Presidential Citation for integrating design and community service.

Our portfolio spans affordable housing, commercial, cultural institutions, schools and higher education, civic and public works, hospitality, high-end residential, recreational projects, workspaces, and parks and publicspaces.
