The name SullivanDay reflects more than a commitment to high quality construction processes and delighted clients. It retains the history of founder John Sullivan, who served clients in industrial, retail and multi-faceted commercial projects for more than 30 years. John served as corporate vice president and project manager at two other major construction companies before founding J.L. Sullivan Construction in 1985. J.L. Sullivan was known for quality and integrity, so when it was time to transition his business to new leadership, he needed someone who reflected those qualities and would continue to care for clients.
In 2006, Steve Day was looking for a new direction in his 15-year career after serving as an owner’s agent for the expansion and build-outs of such companies as Pizza Hut, Boston Market and Charles Schwab. An economic recession loomed when Steve agreed to serve as a consultant and later full-time project and business development manager for J.L. Sullivan. Intending to learn everything he could about running a construction firm, Steve worked closely with John and purchased the firm in 2012. Despite the tough economic conditions, Steve helped grow the firm’s restaurant and veterinary medical niches while preparing internal operations for further growth.
Since then, SullivanDay has won several awards for its projects and is a preferred general contractor for the Veterinary Hospital Association (VHA). Offering LEED accredited professionals, we maintain a strong footprint in veterinary medical and restaurants while expanding our education, retail and corporate office accounts each year.
