History & Present:

Opened doors in 1976, Incorporated in 1978, Thomas A. Yorie JR (Yorio) began working with terrazzo and stone at the age 16 beside his seasoned Father, older Cousin and family in Syracuse, New York. The family haled from the Lazio region of Italy. In the mid 1970’s Central New York’s economy came to a halt, he ended up in Pennsylvania, a few years later the company started. Mr. Yorie and his company got their start with repeated account work, ranging from hundreds of food chains all along the eastern seaboard to high-end marble and stone works inside the mansions of suburban New York City.

By the mid 1980’s the company was completing projects such as the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (650 Bed Prison), exterior stone slab works at bank buildings in Louisiana and many public schools in Pennsylvania.  By his semi-retirement in 2013, his company completed extensive trade works in at least half of the casino’s in Pennsylvania, were performing single terrazzo and tile projects in excess of a hundred thousand square feet each and maintained an unsurpassed level of quality and integrity.

Yorie Tile & Terrazzo, Inc. moved to its current location at 469 Schantz Road , Allentown PA in 2013. Mr. Yorie ended his tenure as President and passed it to Joe Iorio who was the companies’ estimator and project manager since 2000. At the same time, he promoted Brian Brinker, JR.  from lead foreman to a shareholder in the company and Vice President. Mr. Brinker and Mr. Iorio share and uphold the founding principles of the company set forth over forty years ago.
