Located in the Center Court Village shopping center, this is the second store for Alfalfa’s Market, which is an eco-minded grocer based in Boulder. The one-story, 23,983-square-foot plus 3,907-square-foot mezzanine level store was constructed on a drilled pier/grade beam foundation system once we over-excavated and reconditioned the sub-base.
The building frame system is structural metal stud and masonry load-bearing steel joist.
The exterior of the store is masonry veneer and painted stucco with a glass storefront. The main entry features a curved metal roof with a bowstring truss entry. A unique feature is the double (indoor/outdoor) fireplace at the café area.
The store has a café with service deli, floral department, meat and seafood department, and juice and coffee bar. The mezzanine level is home to a community room with a full kitchen for demonstrations and presentations.
The core and shell and tenant finish of Alfalfa’s was completed under two separate contracts. Under three additional contracts, Roche demolished the existing shopping center on site, completed the site development, and also built an additional in-line retail building.
