Our Story

Advanced Geological Services, Inc. (AGS) was formed in 1995 to provide innovative geophysical imaging and consulting services to the environmental, engineering and construction industries. Since its inception, AGS has completed a broad range of geophysical services throughout the continental U.S., Puerto Rico and the Philippines. AGS has developed a strong client base in the environmental and engineering industries by providing rapid and detailed geophysical surveys to expedite a wide variety of non-intrusive subsurface imaging projects. All AGS Geophysicists hold, at minimum, an undergraduate degree in the geosciences, and have years of experience in the field of near surface environmental and engineering geophysics. This experience allows AGS Geophysicists to design and implement innovative, yet cost-effective sub-surface imaging solutions using the latest state-of-the-art instrumentation – thus providing clients with low cost, yet highly detailed, results. AGS also provides utility locating and leak detection services utilizing metal detectors, pipe and cable locators, and acoustic leak detectors. AGS is set apart from standard geophysical consulting companies by their unique capabilities in concrete imaging for forensic , structural engineering and pre-construction applications using GPR methods and in-house processing capabilities. AGS is also one of a handful of companies that possess a full range of borehole imaging capabilities, including an optical televiewer, acoustic televiewer, single and crosshole radar, single and cross-hole seismic, as well as the multi tool (or hydro tool), and a three-arm caliper. AGS has offices along both North American coast lines and the Midwest, allowing us to provide clients throughout the country with timely, accurate, and clear results. AGS provides its clients with highly detailed written reports that include the use of graphical and CAD outputs. In many instances, preliminary interpreted results can be provided to the client while AGS Geophysicists are still on site to allow the clients work to continue uninterrupted.
