Pat Short grew up working in the family business, F.M. Short Company, started by his father in the 50’s. It was here Pat gained his 40 years of construction and business experience. In 2006, having recently retired from F.M. Short Company, Pat then saw an opportunity to start a new company with his son Dillon.
Originally operating out of the owners residence located on Bear Creek led to the naming of the company Bear Creek Construction, and serves as a reminder to the owners just how far the business has come in such a short time. They started with a few employees and a pickup truck, replacing small signs and trimming trees along Texas roadways. Since then, the father and son team have transformed the small company into one of Texas’ premier contractors, specializing in concrete structure and underground construction, performing work on several million dollars in contracts at any one time.
Bear Creek has become a recognized name in the road building industry and constantly maintains contracts with some of the leading heavy highway construction companies in combination with performing work on their own projects dispersed throughout the state of Texas. Bear Creek has continued to fill the need to evolve over the years by bringing in key personnel such as Ken Carver, Operations Manager, and more recently, Colton Short, Construction Engineer, to help manage an ever evolving workload
