S.D. Clifton Construction, Inc.

Jonathan brings to S.D. Clifton over 30 years of experience with 25 of that in accounting/finance and the remainder in marketing. Having spent his entire career either reporting directly to or being part of senior management, he has become a very valuable asset in the decision making processes. Prior to coming to S.D. Clifton he held the position of Manufacturing Controller for E-Z-Go cars for 8 years. He has also worked in the treated wood, textile, retail and electronics industries.

Jonathan earned his MBA from Augusta University and graduated with honors and a 4.0 gpa. The Hull College of Business awarded him the Beta Gamma Sigma award for his work in business and the university awarded him the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi award.

Jonathan grew up in Augusta and is married to Sydney, a lovely farm girl from Moultrie, Ga. They have one dog, Frito, who is one heck of a rascal. Jonathan started with SD Clifton in 2006.
 

Rob went to school at Auburn University. He earned a degree in Building Construction. While at Auburn, Rob played football from 2006-2008. Rob interned at M.J. Harris while he was still in college. After graduation he took a job at Spectra Contract Flooring in Atlanta. Working as a Project Manager/Sales Rep, Rob learned the flooring side of construction while working on jobs such as UGA Main Library renovation, Forsyth County Courthouse, Merrill Gardens Senior Living facility, & The Home Depot 4 new office buildings. Rob finished his fourth and final year at Spectra 3rd out of the 33 Project Managers achieving the Chairman's Club Award. Rob came to work for Clifton Construction March 2016. We are happy to have Rob back at Clifton Construction and look forward to what the future has in store.

Grounded in a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Auburn University and a passion to build, Steve Clifton began his professional career estimating and purchasing for Construction Management Services in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Steve's ability and desire quickly elevated him to the "in field" position of Superintendent, directing and coordination of the subcontractor and material suppliers.
Being recognized as a capable and aggressive leader, Steve had the opportunity of joining Austin Construction and Development Company, Hilton Head, South Carolina as a Superintendent and within a year and half became Project Manager, and within a short time Vice President of the Commercial Construction Division. He was responsible for estimating and constructing both renovation work and new construction for residential and commercial projects. The company grew in volume to over 16 million per year during his tenure.

Steve elected in June of 1986 to move to Augusta, Georgia which is the home of his wife Molly and start his own construction business. Steve has established his business on Christian principle, integrity, hard work, and for over 20 years Steve has used this approach to meet his clients' project needs.

Brandon went to school at Southern Polytechnic State University. He earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Brandon interned with Brasfield and Gorrie while he was still in college. After graduation he took a job at JE Dunn in Atlanta. Working as a project engineer, Brandon learned the construction trade while working on jobs such as Georgia Pacific Innovation Institute, Glock Manufacturing in Interior Renovation, & 3M Manufacturing Plant. Brandon came to work for Clifton Construction October 2015 and has worked as a project engineer on multiple projects including Circle K, Dunkin Donuts. Brandon has been a huge asset by bringing knowledge and technology he learned at other companies to Clifton Construction.

Construction was the topic of conversation around his family table while growing up. His father is a contractor and Lamar learned all about construction on the job under the strong leadership of his dad. After graduation he continued to work with his father in the construction industry. This opportunity gave him the extensive experience, vision of direction and proven methods as well as understanding personal working relationship that make Lamar's projects run smoothly and quickly. Twenty-seven years in the business has given him the ability to successfully manage the large complicated projects or the smaller intricate ones. Lamar has completed both public and privately funded projects. He lives in Lincolnton, GA with his wife Kimberly and their three children, Jae, Cassie and Jessica. Lamar joined our team in 1996.

Michael was born and raised in the Augusta, Ga area. He grew a love for the building industry by working in the construction industry with his step father from a very young age and continuing through high school and as a young adult. Michael learned a vast knowledge of all aspects of the construction industry while supervising subcontractors on jobsites. The type of projects that Michael has supervised and managed include, pre-engineered metal buildings, fire and water damage restoration, car washes, gas stations, retail shopping centers, build-outs, churches, industrial, hospital, health care, government contracting, NSA, fish and wildlife management and design build. Michael was President and CEO of Taylor Commercial Construction from 2002 till 2016 when he decided to join the S.D. Clifton Construction team. Michael lives in North Augusta with his family.

Bill worked in construction for many years and went into the service before moving to Augusta in 1984 as a lead form carpenter. He later had an opportunity to go to SRS where he spent seven years as a support welder and eventually supervisor. He settled with Continental Construction for 10-years as lead carpenter before starting with SD Clifton Construction in 2004 where he has worked up to a Superintendent. Bill is always committed to the betterment of the company and it has shown through is hard work and old school attitude. Bill joined our team in 2004.

Clint is a tireless supervisor in the field, always putting in more whenever necessary. He has spent a lifetime working on all manners of construction projects. His like-able personality and commitment make him an inspirational team leader and a pleasure to work with. Clint is married to Cindy and their family are long time residents of the Augusta area. He has proven to be a valuable and reliable member of our team. Clint has been with SD Clifton since 2005.

Diane grew up in Holland, MI. She started working for a textile company in 1985. Later she was asked to move to GA in 1992 with her Company, which was starting up a textile mill. She was the Cost and Inventory manager and in charge of all the formulas and inventory in the plant. Later she was promoted to garment manager. Her company shut down and started another textile mill in Mexico, she moved with the company and came back to GA in 1998 because it was unsafe. In 1998 she started her career in Construction and she loves it. Diane is engaged to Larry Lynn and she has 2 very talented daughters named Brittany and Brianna. Diane loves motorcycles, cars, animals (Boxer Dogs), she mentors the high-school students and is part of the Columbia County Sheriff Auxiliary.

Don started in the construction business in high school helping his father survey. After graduation, he secured a position as a carpenter's helper at Searl in Augusta, GA. Later, he took a carpenter's position in Atlanta, GA where he was quickly promoted to Superintendent. Don spent another year and a half in Atlanta before returning to Augusta and joining SD Clifton Construction. His local construction history has consisted of working on jobs such as Sitton Motor Lines, Wilkes County Jail, South Carolina State Prison in Columbia, First Baptist Church of Thompson, Thompson High School, Boys and Girls Center, Taco Bell, and Gracewood Elementary as well as numerous others. Don is married to Lynn. Don joined our team in 2007.

Jamie has around 30 years experience. He started his career as a teenage working for his father and uncle as a cleanup boy. He came from the bottom up in the construction trade. He started as a laborer and then a carpenter's helper, moved up to carpenter and then spent 3 years erecting metal buildings. He was made an assistant superintendent in the late 1990's and then superintendent in 2001 and has been one since. He has built schools,jails,fire stations and stores. Jamie loves a challenge! Jamie has a daughter,Megan and a son,Clay and he is very proud of them. He is also proud to be a superintendent for SD Clifton Construction.

Randy's construction background started in high school. He spent his summers doing residential framing to earn extra spending money. After graduation, focused his attention on carpentry work, building schools, hospitals, churches and courthouses. In 2001, Randy became a Superintendent building local Schools in GA and SC. Randy is Married to Wendy and they have a Son, two Daughters and one Grand-Daughter. We are happy that Randy came to SD Clifton in 2014.

"Lincoln Logs" and Tennessee community 'barn raisin' have developed in Rick a love of construction from an early age. Construction won out over football coaching and full time youth work. Rick had construction leadership at Savannah River Site for nine years and another five years of commercial and industrial projects in the Augusta area before joining S.D. Clifton Construction Inc. as project superintendent. Rick's understanding of construction and his genuine concern to meet the clients' needs has proven to make the construction process a great experience for the owner. Rick is married to Sheri and they have one son, Ryan. Rick joined our team in 1998.

Roland began his construction career as a subcontractor doing interior trim and framing for residential homes and commercial building. He later obtained his residential builders license and began remodeling and building custom homes. After working many years in residential construction, he welcomed an opportunity to begin working for SD Clifton Construction in 2016 as a superintendent.

Tere parents were General Contractors and he was raised on construction sites after school and through the summers. Tere started his first company in 1981 building decks, fences, and doing handyman type work. In 1992 he started a general contractor company building new homes, apartment complexes and light commercial remodels. He spent 2 years as a journeyman carpenter with the Carpenters Local #283, building the Mox facility. Tere is one of 6 children and a proud father of 2 Children. He has been with SD Clifton Construction as superintendent since 2013.

Tricia joined the SD Clifton Construction Team in 2004. Tricia and her husband Dan have 2 children, Cassie & Austin. SD Clifton is so blessed to have this hard working lady working for us. She always welcomes clients and subcontractors with her warm smile.
