Q5 ARCHITECTS has been listed in the Blue Book since 1991.

Established 35 years ago by its President, Deborah Jones, Q5 ARCHITECTS is a full service consulting firm offering comprehensive Architectural and Interior Design as well as complete food service design.  Our commercial projects include shopping centers, tenant fit-outs, offices, country clubs and churches.  Residential projects include new construction as well as additions/renovations.  Our experience has included projects throughout the U.S. as well as in Europe, South America, Singapore, Thailand and Russia.

What sets Q5 apart from other architectural firms is that in addition to performing all of the duties normally associated with basic architectural services, our broad in-house design and technical capabilities - food service, lighting and interior design, as well as construction cost estimating and value engineering - allow us to design a facility that has fully integrated design concepts that are developed concurrently.  With the addition of Leed Certified, J. Cha in 2018, we now also focus on sustainability and high performance buildings.

By drawing from a group of highly qualified engineering consultants that we have selected over the years, who specialize in the various engineering disciplines, we are able to provide all aspects of engineering work necessary to implement any project.

As a rule, we take a project from conception, through construction documents, to supervision of construction.

Ms. Jones has close to 40 years of Architectural and Interior Design experience.  She created Q5 Architects in 1986 and focused on the design of restaurants, food-related projects and shopping centers for more than 20 yrs – many of which were located throughout this country as well as in Singapore, Thailand, Venezuela and Russia.  Currently, Q5 provides general Architectural Services for projects ranging from churches, light industrial /commercial and residential.  She has been involved in all aspects of projects from conception (including Preliminary Site Planning and Architectural, Interior, Food Service, Lighting & Graphic Design), through construction documents, to construction administration as well as tenant coordination and special purchasing & shipping (particularly for overseas projects).

Mr. Cha has close to 40 years of general Architectural and Construction Management experience.  He has been involved in all aspects of projects from Planning, Design Concepts and Development, construction documents, and construction administration. 

Particular areas of interest are Sustainability, LCA, High Performance Building, Passive House, and Zero Energy Buildings.

Mr. Cha was sole proprietor of Cha Associates in NJ from 1980-2009.  Oversea Employment in Seoul, Korea from 2009-2018: worked at Susterra Partners, a Clean Energy Advisory Company as a Technical management partner and worked on Energy Efficiency, LCA, for large buildings and multiuse projects with Gansam Architects.                      Presently working at Q5 since 2018 as an architect.
