Scope Of Work

JESCO’s Mechanical-Electrical Division provided the mechanical design and the mechanical & plumbing installation for Yates Construction and their partner Walbridge Aldinger on the National Steel Car manufacturing facility in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  This 2.2 million SF facility utilizes a modern design with sustainable features and is the largest LEED certified building in the world.

The project consists of a building four to six hundred feet wide by 4,000 feet long, a 120,000 SF administrative building and two 20,000 SF employee facilities. The manufacturing infrastructure includes distribution from central locations for argon, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and large quantities of compressed air, electrical distribution for welding and fabrication department. Natural lighting was used for the manufacturing lines. Key spaces have been dedicated for convenient access to multiple cafés and break rooms.

JESCO Mechanical and Electrical installed over 20 miles of pipe in this facility.
